New Batch of BINGO Cards Available!

The next round of BINGO cards is now available to claim! You can claim cards via the SWG site, claim cards via the MPTT site, or comment here with the cards you'd like me to add for you.

[If you click on one of the links above and don't see the new cards, either clear your cache or add a ? at the end of the url: e.g., http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/b2mem2012/create.php?]

My backlog of BINGO cards is now caught up. \0/ If you sent me a finished card or a request to have a card created, then your card should be posted. If it is not, then please contact me right away. I'm sure I have it, but it probably got lost in the shuffle of several hundred emails that pour in whenever we run one of these challenges. My next task--updating player pages! :) Thank you, card creators, for being patient with me while I worked through the many requests I've received in the past few weeks.

A reminder that if you'd like to contribute a BINGO card to our event this year, you can do so here. (Graphics design experience/software is not required!) All BINGO cards and requests for cards must be received before February 21.

Thanks to Dreamflower, Indy, Linda Hoyland, Kenaz, Aliana, Oshun, Mirach, Lyra, and havamahal for creating this latest round of BINGO cards!

I cordially hate whoever submitted two Aragorn-centric cards. Just to say.

*hugs crowded March timeframe*

They were actually created by two different people, completely unaware of each other! :D I received them both the same day. Definitely a case of great minds thinking alike. Or maybe Aragorn was in the air that day!

Was that you who just sent the request with both Aragorn cards on it? It didn't have a name on it, but I chalked that up to the Aragorn-induced-OMG-what-is-my-March-going-to-look-like fluster. ;)

ETA: Never mind! Got the corrected request. :)

Yes, that would be me.

And at a guess, I think I'm going to have to write revenge upon Linda Hoyland and Mirach, because those cards just seem too... them. Nothing personal, ladies, it's just the time crunch speaking.

Dang you're good ... :D

And I'm guessing Mirach's is the red one...

Right again! I made the other one based on Linda's ideas, and I haven't Mirach's skills with graphics. (She made the Draw a Character card too, which has to be one of the coolest card designs yet!)

Criminy, I had to claim the Draw a Character card. This could not be helped.

I just got the latest list of the cards I've claimed in my inbox and I nearly had a conniption because I'd not realized I had 11 cards to my name. No good will come of this. =D

Especially because there's still two weeks left to make cards, so I'm sure we'll have at least a few more card releases! :D :D :D

(I keep telling myself that I don't have to play all the cards I want to claim. So it can't hurt to claim them, right? *hopeful grin*)

This...terrifies me profoundly. ^__^

I have this idea that I'm mainly going to do short works, which is something I need to improve upon anyway, so hopefully I can stick with that well-intended notion.

You can also satisfy multiple challenges with one piece, which past participants that prefer to write longer works often find works well for them. I'm thinking I might take this angle this year ...

This is good to know.

I'm still going to try for the shorter-piece (~1000-2000 words) angle myself, as a continued challenge to myself to avoid longer pieces. I've already got one long-ish and one très long work in progress. One more would probably crowd some vital bit of sanity out of my brain. =]

Have y'all posted a h/c bingo card and I just missed it? Or could that be a suggestion? :D I don't know how to create one but can offer square ideas if needed. :D

The addict,
Febobe :)

Nope, no h/c card yet! I think we need one, yes. ;) We have a nifty formish thing for sending in the prompts for the squares, or feel free to contact me directly and I'll make the card for you! :)

I looked at "If [insert famous author] wrote LOTR/The Sil etc." and thought, "If George Martin wrote the Sil, those Catholic values would be straight out the window!"

Then I imagined a Martin written version of kinslaying and suddenly it didn't sound so cool -_-

If Martin wrote the Sil, even Galadriel, Elros, Elrond and Maglor would be dead. *ducks*

He does have chronic character killing disease, indeed.

I had no business claiming the geography card, but I just couldn't walk away - it is the coolest thing!

Have no idea where I think I'll find all this writing time come March.

I think there's quite a few of us asking that same question ... :D
